HOLY CRAP ART?!

After 5 million months from offiicially getting this blog, I present to you all... a picture! XDDD

But why the hell can't I put text above the picture? It originally was above it oo; Shini I could use your help, LOL. ^^; *is dumb*

This is the main character from my newest story in progress. Her name is Sera, she's 10 years old, and comes from a very.. unique family, lol. I've been really enjoying working on the story so far. I have a lot to do still, but I am really enjoying it and I have high hopes I will go far with this idea.
In the past I would get many ideas, but lose interest quickly (this is fanart I speak about) and with my few 'original' ideas I would always get so scared and insecure because I am so limited in my skills. I'm craving knowledge and the need to learn, but it doesn't help when my time to do art is limited because of school.
However since I took a writing class this semester, I have had no choice but to write. and I am loving it. I think I am finding a pattern to get into, and I have discovered some very useful tips via my book for this class.

I'm still currently trying to draw her father, who is the second main character in the story. He is something else... that's all I'm going to say lol XD

I'm contemplating posting some of my writing, but it's the middle of the story and I'm not sure if I do that right now while I'm currently planning/writing it. Maybe some snippets here and there?

Also, on a unrelated note: I found myself looking at anime!South Park art. I found this girl on y!G that draws the FREAKING CUTEST KENNY EVER. All of the boys are cute, but I <3 Kenny the most (always did even when I was into the show, lol) She also turned me onto Kenny/Kyle D: I'm such a loser LOL.
But it's nice to enjoy different fandoms now then be stuck in one for months/years. I find myself opening up to different possibilities, slowly but surely :D

Next post might be a writing update.

To.. or Not To? Also, Bad Fanfiction.

So, after today's Graphic Design class I decided I really should go ahead and download Photoshop CS4.
It looks cool, I won't lie.. but it looks like it has the majority of the same functions as 7.0, which I already have. I think I'm gonna get the upgrade anyway just at least while I'm in this class, that way I can do work at home if I need to.

I want to draw this picture of my newest character I have in mind, to use as a gueina pig for CS4 at school (Not to mention give me something fun to work on during class when I've done my work xD)
Now the problem is just.. drawing it.

I haven't doodled much of him admittedly, but what I have done is of course, providing difficulties. It's hard to figure out how you wanna draw him without just copycatting someone elses style you see suited for that character. Maybe now is a good incentive to use my brand new sketchbook I bought like half a year ago and visit Pose Maniacs.
The other problem I have is finding reference pictures - when I search for them, I just can't seem to find what I'm looking for. Locating good references or specific ones for me are hard, it's just like I'm not doing it right. Any advice from those who are particularly good at searching for things? I could use some ;__;

Also, I wasted time last night I should have spent doing History homework reading a horrible, horrible fanfiction. It was horrible in every aspect - the plot, the grammar and spelling (ESPECIALLY the grammar and spelling) and the characterization... but I read it all the way through. Why you ask? I think it was a case of "it captivated me because it was just so BAD" kind of way. Not to mention.. I think if the author had written it better, it could have been good material. The idea/plot was fucked up and would be even well written, but when it's written well the twisted plot can be more tolerated or even appreciated. I myself have a penchant for rather twisted and dark, unconventional story lines. But there was just too much wrong with it.

I was tempted to leave the author a long, critical review (not bashing, but critical for sure) but then I figured what are the chances he/she will take what I have to say seriously? Maybe not even read it? Who knows, I might do it anyway just to see.

I gotta catch up on journal writing for Creative Writing too. I also want to get some notes jotted down and compiled. A co-worker of mine expressed interest in writing and I told him a bit about my story. He seemed to like it and said he'd look at anything I showed him. I dont' wanna give him all the goods up front, but I definitely can appreciate a second opinion and some feedback and criticism. My friend Hanyou offered to help and edit too which was marvelous :D
Maybe I should join a writing challenge, or a forum or something to help promote my story/give me incentive to work on it. Maybe? Maybe not?

Anyway, next time I post I'll have some goodies to upload.

...Well...

..This is almost awkward.
I initially joined this site quite a long while ago. Probably a year or more. The only reason I got it at the time was because someone I was talking to at that time bugged me to get one; some sort of help promoting his band or something *doesn't remember - long stopped talking to said person*

Anyway, I remembered I had this and thought it'd be the perfect place to try and invent my own unique blog :D

I use my LiveJournal for ranting and life bitching, so I'd like to use this one for more random and somewhat light-hearted discussions. Sort of a place to let my artistic and creative side run more freely. That being said, I hope to sort of use this as a sketchblog, as well as a writing a blog. Something to update continually to get me back into a pattern.

There's not much else for me to say right now really... I am currently obsessed with the Halloween remake by Rob Zombie. I found flaws and good points in the movie, and just overall really loved it because of the different perspective on Micheal Myer's psyche as opposed to the original. I can't wait to own that and the 2nd movie on DVD (as well as see ALL of the second movie)
